A police official has taken an initiative to sing a song “Bangabandhu, Tumi-e Bangladesh…” in 100 languages, marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Towhid Ethun, singer and composer of the song, said the song is expected to be released on March 17 next year.
The song will be sung in Bangla, Hindi, English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Japanese, Malay, Portuguese, Korean, Urdu, Vietnamese, Thai, Polish, Russian and 84 other languages, he said.
“We've already communicated with several popular singers of Saarc countries and composing the song in several languages has already began,” he added.
Towhid Ethun is presently working as additional deputy commissioner of counter terrorism unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Meanwhile, Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee will conduct a tree plantation programme at various educational institutions in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Khulna and Sylhet today, marking Bangabandhu's 99th birth anniversary, says a press release.
