Shamsad Mortuza made ULAB pro-VC

Prof Shamsad Mortuza has been appointed as the pro-vice chancellor of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) on September 6, said a press release yesterday.

The appointment was made by President Abdul Hamid, also the chancellor of ULAB.

Prof Mortuza joined ULAB as a teacher and head of the Department of English and Humanities on August 2016. Before joining ULAB, he taught at many universities including Jahangirnagar University, where he was also the department head from 2006 to 2009.

He studied American Indian Studies at the University of Arizona and attended Birkbeck College, University of London.

He started his career as a journalist at The Daily Star.
