Seven people were killed and 36 others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday.

In Kushtia, four people were killed and 30 others injured when a bus carrying 54 devotees fell into a roadside ditch on Kushtia-Pabna highway in 10-mile area of Mirpur upazila.

The deceased were Alam Ali Mondol, 55, Zahidul Islam, 40, Nur-e-Alam Siddique, 55 and the bus driver Parvez Hossain, 34, of Joypurhat.

They were going to attend an Urs Sarif at Bishwa Zaker Manjil in Faridpur.

In Naogaon, Ruhul Amin, 20, of Damua village died and five others were injured when a three-wheeler fell into a roadside ditch at Dakhara village of Raninagar upazila.

In Jamalpur Sadar, Hatem Ali, 80, of Paschim Fulbaria area was killed and another elderly person injured when a tractor hit them in the area.

In Bogra, Mahim, 03, son of Manik Mia of Kashipur village was killed when a truck hit him while he was crossing Bogra-Joypurhat road with his mother in Kashipur area of Shibganj upazila.
