Road accidents kill six, injure five
At least six people were killed and five injured in road accidents in two districts in the last two days, according to reports from our correspondents.
In Faridpur, two people, including a child, were killed and two injured in two separate accidents in Nagarkanda upazila yesteday.
In Bobukdia village, a bus of Sakura Paribahan ran over Alif Mollah, 3, son of Khairuzzaman Mollah, around 12pm, killing him on the spot, said police, quoting locals.
The bus driver fled the scene with the vehicle, and police are trying to catch him.
In Joperkhali area, a three-wheeler, carrying passengers, smashed into a roadside shop around 1:30pm, after the driver lost control of the vehicle, police added.
Three injured passengers were taken to a local health complex where the on-duty doctor declared Rezaul Mollah, 35, dead.
The driver had fled the scene after the accident.
In Dinajpur, four people were killed and three injured in two separate accidents in Parbatipur and Birganj upazilas on Tuesday.
In Parbatipur, three people were killed as their motorcycles collided with a parked truck at Bazitpur village around 10pm, said police.
The deceased are Forhad Hossain, 35; Md Antar, 32; and Md Ashiqur, 28.
Locals rushed three injured, who were on the motorcycles, to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.
In Birganj, Monsher Ali, 66, a rickshaw-van puller, died as his vehicle overturned near Barsha Fishery Farm around 9:30pm, police added.
