Road accidents kill six
Six people were killed and three others injured in road accidents in five districts yesterday, according to reports from our correspondents.
In Chattogram, Shahdat Hossen, 30, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, died as a truck hit his vehicle from the opposite direction in Fokirnir Haat area of Karnaphuli upazila.
Meanwhile, motorcyclist Mohammad Monsur, 42, was killed after a truck hit his bike in Andarmanik area of Raozan upazila.
In Savar, a man was killed as a bus ran him over on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar bus stand area.
The deceased -- Din Islam, 27, son of Abu Sayeed of Nateshar village in Noakhali -- was a bus driver by profession.
The man was on a rickshaw, said Savar police.
In Bogura, Md Rahman Mia, 28, a helper of a bus driver, was killed as another bus hit it from behind on Bogura-Rangpur highway in Shajahanpur area.
In Gaibandha, a Pally Bidyut Samity official died as an oncoming bus hit his motorbike in Gobindaganj municipal area.
Abdul Hamid, 58, was area director of Gaibandha Pally Bidyut Samity, said police.
In Gopalganj, Limon Munshi, 24, a grad of Rupali Bank, Gopalganj Branch, was killed and three others were injured as a bus and a three-wheeler collided head-on on Gopalganj-Tungipara road in Gimadanga area of Tungipara upaizla.
