Road accidents kill four
At least four persons were killed in road accidents across three districts in last two days.
In Khulna, 13-year-old Arman Hossain, died after he was hit by a car of Bangladesh Coast Guard near Rupsha bridge area yesterday, police said.
He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) where doctors declared him dead, Rafiqul Islam, officer-in charge of Rupsha Police Station said.
A case has been filed in this regard.
In another incident, a man age around 30, who was undergoing treatment following injuries in a road accident, succumbed at KMCH, reports our correspondent.
He was brought to the hospital on Wednesday, said Harshit Mondal, sub-inspector of Sonadanga Police Station.
In Dinajpur, motorcyclist Khokon Chandra Sarkar, 32, died on spot while his friend Golzar Hossain was injured after a truck hit the bike in front of Phulbari upazila health complex on Wednesday, reports our correspondent.
Locals rescued Golzar and rushed him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile in Keraniganj, Shafiqul Islam, 52, was killed while his wife was injured after a pick-up van hit a rickshaw in Dakpara area on Wednesday, UNB reports.
The accident left the couple critically injured, said Shaker Mohammad Zubaiyer, officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Model Police Station, adding, they were taken to Mitford Hospital where doctors declared Shafiqul dead.
No further details could be known immediately.
