Rezaur Rahman passes away
Rezaur Rahman, founding managing director of Bengal Airlift Group, passed away at the capital’s United Hospital at 1:45pm on Tuesday. He was suffering from various ailments for the last few months, says a press release.
He had a successful and illustrious career spanning over three decades, during which he established Bengal Airlift Group as a pioneer in logistics and supply chain solutions, amongst others.
Major business concerns of the group are Bengal Airlift Ltd, Bengal Knittex Ltd, Bengal NFK Textiles Ltd, Air Alliance Ltd (authorised service contractor of UPS) and many others.
He was a significant personality in the airlines industry of Bangladesh. He was a former member of erstwhile Central Superior Service of Pakistan, a deputy secretary of the Bangladesh government, secretary to the board and head of administration at Biman Bangladesh Airlines, founding president of the Association of Air Cargo Agents of Bangladesh, and was elected as president of Dhaka Club Ltd for two terms.
Survived by his wife, son, and four grandchildren, Rezaur was dearly respected by his friends, relatives and well-wishers.
His namaz-e-janaza was held yesterday at Gulshan Azad Masjid, and his qulkhwani will also be held at the same location on Monday after Asr prayers.
