Politically bankrupt BNP seeking help of foreigners: Hanif
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif yesterday said BNP is seeking help of foreigners to get back to power as it has become “politically bankrupt”.
“BNP had never been close to grassroots people. Whenever they went to power, they plundered public resources. They always relied to conspiracy. They are now knocking on the doors of foreigners, but no foreign power will be able to bring them to power,” he said.
Hanif came up with the observations while talking to newsmen during his election campaign at Harinarayanpur union in Kushtia.
Terming BNP's election manifesto “deceiving”, the Awami League leader said the party is yet to declare the name of their candidate for Prime Minister if they come in power.
“Their leader Tarique Rahman is a fugitive, after getting convicted in different cases at home and abroad. If they declare his name, people will turn their faces away. Tarique is hatching conspiracy against the country from London,” he added.
