Police recover two dead bodies in Khulna
Police recovered two dead bodies from a rented room at Sonadanga Bus Terminal area in Khulna city on the night of January 18 (Friday).
The two were identified as Md. Akhter (48), owner of a welding workshop at Sonadanga Bus Terminal area, hailing from Kaliganj upazila under Jhenaidah district, and Mehadi Hassan (17) son of Kabir Hossain of Terokhada upazila of Khulna.
Hassan was a student of Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs (UCEP) school’s Sonadanga branch and used to work at the welding workshop. He lived near Khulna Medical College Hospital in Hassanbag area.
Md Momtazul Haq, officer-in-charge of Sonadanga station told The Daily Star that police recovered the dead bodies from a rented room, located just 300 metres away from the police station at Sonadanga bus terminal area upon receiving information. Akhter’s body was found hanging from the ceiling.
“Police could not find out the cause of the incident. CID and PBI are working with police to investigate the deaths,” said the OC.
Police has sent the dead bodies to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
No written case about the incident has been filed yet.
