Petition filed seeking Khaleda's treatment
Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder, a lawyer for Khaleda Zia, yesterday filed a petition with a Dhaka court, seeking treatment for the BNP chief.
The petition was filed during the hearing on charge framing in Niko graft case at the court of Judge Sheikh Hafizur Rahman of Special Judge Court-9 in Dhaka.
During the hearing, the lawyer claimed that Khaleda was released from hospital and sent to jail without completing the full course of her treatment at BSMMU last year.
Khaleda was taken to the hearing in a wheelchair around 12:25pm at the makeshift court inside Old Dhaka central jail.
Meanwhile, BNP Standing Committee Member Moudud Ahmed, an accused in the case, opposed the charge framing against him and said the case is politically motivated.
The court fixed February 20 for the next hearing on the charge framing in the case.
