Parliament’s 4th session to begin on Sep 8
The fourth session of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad will begin at 5pm on September 8.
President Abdul Hamid called the session yesterday, exercising the power bestowed upon him as per clause (1) of article 72 of the constitution, according to a press release of the parliament secretariat.
Before the House goes into session, the business advisory committee of the Jatiya Sangsad is scheduled to hold a meeting at parliament with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair to fix the duration and businesses of the upcoming session.
Duration of the fourth session is likely to be short, sources at the parliament secretariat told The Daily Star.
The third session, which was also the budget session, began on June 11 and was prorogued on July 11 after 21 working days. The 11th parliament -- formed through the December 30, 2018 national election -- went into its maiden session on January 30 this year.
