Parliamentary body of OIC lauds Bangladesh
A 16-member delegation of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) called on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam yesterday to discuss probable role of the OIC parliaments in addressing the Rohingya situation.
The members along with the PUIC secretary general expressed gratitude to Bangladesh for providing food, shelter, medical care and other humanitarian services to more than 1 million forcibly displaced Rohingyas.
The Bangladesh state minister requested OIC member countries to extend their assistance in their engagements during the forthcoming UN General Assembly. The delegation will visit Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar today, says a foreign ministry press release.
