Mohammedan club director placed on fresh remand
A Dhaka court yesterday placed Mohammedan Sporting Club director in-charge M Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan on a two-day fresh remand in a case filed for possessing narcotics at his Monipuripara residence.
Metropolitan Magistrate Ashek Imam passed the order after Investigation Officer of the case, Sub-inspector Mohammad Kamrul Islam of Tejgaon Police Station, produced Lokman before the court with a five-day remand prayer.
The IO produced Lokman, also a director of Bangladesh Cricket Board, before the court on expiry of his two-day remand in the case.
In yesterday’s remand prayer, the IO said Lokman gave important information about the incident which was being verified, adding that he needed to be remanded further for gathering more information.
The defence, however, moved a petition seeking bail for his client Lokman, saying that he was implicated in the case.
KALABAGAN CLUB PRESIDENT FURTHER REMANDED
Another Dhaka court yesterday placed Kalabagan Krira Chakra Club President Shafiqul Alam Feroz on a five-day fresh remand in an arms case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam passed the order after Rab produced Feroz before the court with a 15-day remand prayer.
Earlier Feroz was placed on a five-day remand in the case and he was interrogated about the incident.
Earlier in the day, Feroz was produced before the same court on expiry of his five-day remand in narcotics case.
