Mohammad Yaqub passes away

Mohammad Yaqub, a sportsman, passed away in Oldenburg, Germany on Monday. He was 69, says a press release.

Son of late Prof Muhammad Ishaq, Yaqub left behind his wife, two daughters and a son.

Yaqub was a businessman after he moved to Germany in the early 1970s. He played both cricket and football in Dhaka in the 1960s. He was given the coveted Dhaka University blue for representing the Combined Universities XI in football.
