Missing teenage boy found buried in Pabna
A teenage boy was found buried in Pabna yesterday three days after he had gone missing.
Police dug Ashik's body out of soil of a field in front of Dublia Police Camp in Sadar upazila.
After noticing that foxes were trying to dig soil with claws, locals informed the law enforcers, said Muniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Ataikula Police Station.
Ashik Mahamud Ani had gone missing while the 14-year-old was returning home in Dublia village from his father's shop at Dublia Bazar on Monday, the OC quoted the family as saying.
The next day, his father Rabiul Pramanik filed a general diary (GD) with the police station. Criminals killed him and buried the body to cover up the incident, said the police officer.
“It is pre-planned. But, the perpetrators are yet to be identified. We are investigating the incident,” said OC Muniruzzaman.
Ashik sat for JSC examination this year from Dublia High School. Police picked up two of his schoolmates for interrogation, he said. The body was sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
