Mashrafe visits newborn child of deceased ASI
Cricketer turned politician Mashrafe Bin Mortaza visited the wife and newborn of the late Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) of DB Police Moniruzzaman Monir at Narail Sadar Hospital last night.
Mashrafe, newly elected member of parliament, donated Tk 1 lakh and assured all-out support to the deceased's wife Rabeya Begum. She gave birth to a child at Narail Sadar Hospital on December 29.
“Police Super Md Jasim Uddin also donated Tk 70,000, while Deputy Commissioner of the district Tk 10,000 to Rabeya,” Mashrafe told BSS.
“The mother and child are doing well,” Dr Meena Humayun Kabir said.
Monir, 40, son of Momin Biswas, was from Indra village of Bagharpara under Jashore district.
Monir died from cardiac arrest on December 27 while on duty at Debi Government Primary School in Lohagora upazila where Mashrafe was addressing an election rally.
Later, he was brought to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
