Man killed in road accident

A man died after his vehicle was hit by a truck in Sitakunda upazila on Dhaka-Chattogram highway early yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Md Al Mamun, 50, a bus driver of Sohag Paribahan, said Abdullah, inspector of Kumira Police Outpost.

The incident took place at Bashbaria area in the upazila when the Chattogram-bound bus was hit in the rear by a truck, leaving driver Mamun seriously injured and the front portion of the bus severely damaged, he added.

Locals rushed Mamun to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.
