Man killed in Dhaka road crash

One person was killed in a road accident in the capital's Jatrabari area yesterday.

The deceased -- Mohammad Khokon, 40 -- was a worker of Sinha Textile Mills in the area, said police.

The accident took place at Mir Hajirbagh when a human haulier rammed a rickshaw carrying the victim, said Kazi Wazed Ali, officer-in-charge of Jatrabari Police Station.

Khokon was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said the OC.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy, he said.

Police detained the human haulier driver, Abul Kalam, 30.

Khokon, who was from Naogaon, used to live near Kanchpur Bazar area with his family.
