Man found dead in Ctg
Police yesterday recovered the body of a man from a shanty at Pahartoli area in Chattogram.
The victim and a woman, introduced themselves as husband and wife and rented the shanty at Abdul Ali Nagar area yesterday morning, said Kamrul Islam, additional deputy commissioner (west) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, quoting the owner.
Around 1pm, the owner and locals broke open the shanty’s door and found the body – his face tied with a cloth – and informed police, ADC Kamrul said, adding that the woman was not anywhere.
“The door was locked and we repeatedly called out for them. When they did not respond, we broke open the door and found the body,” the owner said.
On information, police rushed to the spot and untied the cloth from the victim’s face and found his throat has been slit. A knife was also found there.
The house owner said that the victim did not provide any national identity card while renting the shanty – therefore, his identity could not be ascertained immediately, the ADC also said.
