A man was found dead at a hotel in Barishal yesterday.
The deceased is Golam Mostafa, 70. He was a project consultant of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), financed by World Bank.
Mostafa's body was found inside the bathroom of a room in Hotel Arena in the morning, said Nurul Islam, officer-in-charge of Barishal Kotwali Police Station. “We had to break the door to enter the room.”
“The reason behind his death would be confirmed after an autopsy at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue, where his body has been sent,” the OC added.
Nayon, manager of the hotel, said, “Mostafa rented room-304 on the second floor on Tuesday. When a staff member went to serve him breakfast and knocked on the door repeatedly, nobody answered. He then informed us and we called police.”
