Law minister off to Vienna
Law Minister Anisul Huq left for Austrian capital Vienna yesterday, to attend the 10th session on the review chapter of implementation of United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).
The three-day conference begins today, law ministry sources said.
The minister will lead the Bangladesh delegation, including senior officials from legislative and parliamentary affairs division of the law ministry, Anti-Corruption Commission, Bangladesh Bank and Bangladesh mission in Vienna.
Bangladesh has already formulated public-interest-related laws including Information Disclosure (Protection) Act, 2011; Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009; Right to Information Act, 2009; Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2012; and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Act, 2012 -- as part of implantation of UNCAC.
