Khaleda doing better now: BSMMU
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) authorities yesterday claimed that the health condition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has improved significantly.
“There has been marked improvement in her condition. You can say she is well today (Thursday),” said BSMMU director Brig Gen AK Mahbubul Hoque.
Briefing reporters at the hospital, he also said the BNP chief is taking medicine as prescribed by a five-member medical board formed by the government for her treatment.
Asked whether Khaleda's blood sugar level is now under control, the BSMMU director said that it will take some more time. “She's taking medicine and the sugar level will soon be under control.”
Khaleda Zia was admitted to the hospital on Monday. She was shifted from Old Dhaka central jail for proper treatment.
After her admission, the BSMMU director told reporters that Khaleda was suffering from severe pain in the joints of her limbs, insomnia and high blood sugar.
