The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) secretariat will launch a budget information help desk tomorrow to assist lawmakers in delivering their addresses at the first budget session of the 11th parliament.
With cooperation of Budget Analysis and Monitoring Unit (BAMU), the parliament secretariat will set up the desk at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, said an official release yesterday.
The secretariat has taken the initiative for providing assistance to lawmakers for delivering their addresses on the budget issues, it said. Lawmakers can collect important information from the help desk before addressing the session.
The desk will help lawmakers deliver informative and constructive speeches, the release added.
The Jatiya Sangsad will go into its budget session on June 11.
It would be the third session of the 11th parliament, and the first budget session of the current Awami League government, which assumed office after a landslide victory through the December 30 national election.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will place the national budget for 2019-20 fiscal in the House on June 13, said a spokesperson of the parliament secretariat.
President Abdul Hamid summoned the parliament session on May 13, exercising the power bestowed upon him by the article 72 (1) of the country’s constitution.
The first session of the 11th parliament began on January 30.
