Holey Artisan Case

Hearing adjourned till Jan 16

A Dhaka court adjourned the hearing of the Holey Artisan attack case till January 16, as the prosecution failed to produce any witness yesterday.

Judge Majibur Rahman of Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal of Dhaka passed the order, after the prosecution submitted a petition seeking an adjournment of the hearing.

The judge also issued summons upon six prosecution witnesses to appear before it on Jan 16.

Earlier, eight prosecution witnesses including the complainant of the case testified in connection with the case.

On July 23 last year, Inspector Humayun Kabir of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit pressed charges against eight persons in the case.

On November 26, the tribunal framed charges against the accused.

On July 1, 2016, armed militants stormed the upscale café in Gulshan's diplomatic zone and killed 20 hostages, mostly foreign nationals.
