Govt ready to cooperate with private sector
Collaboration of all stakeholders is necessary to achieve Bangladesh’s 2041 goals, and for that, the government is ready to cooperate with the private sector, said Education Minister Dipu Moni yesterday.
Inaugurating the first International conference on Advances in Science, Engineering and Robotics Technology in Dhaka, she said Bangladesh is trying to keep up pace with the world.
The conference was organised in joint collaboration of East West University’s (EWU) computer science and engineering department and Japan-Bangladesh Technology at EWU.
“The world is moving at a very fast pace, especially in the areas of science and technology,” the minister observed in her speech as chief guest.
“We’re on the brink of the fourth industrial revolution.
In Bangladesh, we’re trying to achieve that speed,” the minister said.
She said both men and women have to take part in advancing the country’s science and technology sector.
It is mandatory to ensure that students develop skills needed in this sector, the minister noted.
Dipu Moni said the education ministry is scrutinising the school curriculum.
“We want to prepare our children for the future from school level,” she added.
She also lauded the hosts for arranging a timely event and also EWU for its achievement in educational activities.
