Free medical treatment given to 1,800 people
A free medical camp to raise awareness on health and hygiene among adolescents was held yesterday in Giasnagor area of Moulvibazar Sadar upazila.
Association of Mymensingh Ex-Cadets (AMEC), an organisation of former cadets from Mymensingh Girls Cadet College, organised the camp on the premises of Mohammad Yusuf School.
A team of 35 physicians and technologists also provided medical treatment to patients at the event.
Architect Farzana Taymus Anam, publicity and publications officer of AMEC, said, at the camp they provided free health check-up, treatment and medicines to 1,800 women and children. They were also provided free blood group tests and information on health and nutrition.
AMEC distributes free clothes to the needy during winter in different parts of the country, provides housing, deep tube wells, relief materials and food to flood victims and organises social and health awareness workshops, she also said.
