Former deputy secy Neyamat Ullah remanded
A Dhaka court yesterday placed Dr Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan, a former deputy secretary on a two-day remand in connection with a case filed over his alleged involvement in anti-state activities and attempts to make the upcoming national election questionable.
Metropolitan Magistrate Millat Hossain passed the order after police produced Neyamat Ullah before the court with a five day remand prayer.
A team of Rab-2 arrested Neyamat from Dhanmondi on Wednesday. However, family sources claimed he was picked up on Tuesday night.
Rab filed a case against him yesterday under the Digital Security Act and handed him over to Dhanmondi Police Station.
