Govt issues travel alert for New Zealand
Bangladesh government has issued travel alert for visiting New Zealand following the Christchurch terror attack. All Bangladeshi nationals have been asked to maintain precautionary measures while travelling to New Zealand, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen told a press conference yesterday.
He also said the New Zealand government will fly one family member of each of the five Bangladeshis killed in the terror attack to bring back the bodies.
To facilitate all travel procedures of the victims' family members, the foreign ministry has appointed a focal point in Dhaka, he added.
Md Walid Bin Qasem, assistant secretary (welfare) of the Consular & Welfare Wing of the ministry, will facilitate the process.
After filing an application, family members can contact the official, he also said, adding that it is now confirmed that five Bangladeshis have been killed in the deadly terror attack in Christchurch on Friday.
