Five idols found broken at Ctg shop

Five idols of Hindu deities were found broken at a shop in Chittagong on Monday afternoon.

Artisan Gauranga Acharjee put the idols -- two of Ganesh and three of Bishwakarma -- on display at his shop for sale, said Shyamal Palit, president of Chittagong District Puja Udjapan Parishad.

A local was seen fleeing the scene before Gauranga reached his shop at Shantiniketan Bazar in Rangunia, Shyamal quoted the artisan as saying.

Guaranga filed a case against the man on Monday night, said Imtiaz Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Rangunia Police Station.
