Father, son killed in road accident
At least four persons, including three of the same family were killed in separate road accidents in Tangail and Faridpur districts yesterday.
In Faridpur, three persons were killed and another was injured on Majkandi-Bhatiapar road in Boalmari upazila, reports our local correspondent.
The deceased were identified as Kashim Mollah, his brother Aku Mollah, 40, and Kashim's son Sohel Mollah, 15, said AKM Shamim, officer-in-charge of Boalmari Police Station.
The accident took place at Bonchaki intersection in the upazila, when a local bus collided head-on with the motorbike the trio was riding on, police said quoting locals.
The collision left the three men seriously injured. Locals rescued and rushed them to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex, where Aku and Sohel were declared dead on arrival.
However, Kashim was shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries, said OC Shamim, adding, the bus has been seized.
ONE KILLED, 10 HURT IN TANGAIL
An unidentified woman was killed and 10 others were injured in Kalihati upazila on Dhaka-Tangail highway yesterday, reports our Tangail correspondent.
The accident took place at Elenga around 9am, when a Sirajganj-bound bus collided head on with a sand-laden truck, leaving the unidentified female bus passenger dead on spot and 10 others hurt, Pronab Kumar Sarkar, a sergeant of Elenga highway police told the Daily Star.
After the incident, police, fire service and civil defence personnel rushed to the spot, rescued the injured and took them to Tangail General Hospital.
No further details were known immediately.
