Farmer dies of dengue in Magura
A farmer died of dengue in Magura on Tuesday night while being shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
The deceased is Nazmul Hossain, 30, from the district’s Sadar upazila.
Magura Civil Surgeon Dr Pradip Kumar Saha said Nazmul got admitted to the Sadar hospital on Saturday with dengue.
As his condition deteriorated, doctors recommended shifting him to Faridpur hospital but he died before he could be taken there.
A total of 336 people infected with the mosquito-borne disease were hospitalised across the country in the last 24 hours till 8am on Wednesday.
Currently, 1,460 dengue patients -- including 524 in Dhaka -- are being treated at hospitals.
