FameLab winner announced
British Council organised the national finale of FameLab Bangladesh 2019 on Saturday at The Westin Dhaka. Fourteen finalists competed for the privilege of representing Bangladesh at the International Cheltenham Science Festival in Cheltenham, UK, said a press release.
ASM Afrin Bin Nur Adib from Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Buet, became the winner of the competition.
Dhaka University (DU) Professor Humaira Akhter, Brac University Senior Lecturer MK Sharif Siam, and DU Assistant Professor Dr Mustak Ibn Ayub, were the judges. The finalists were given Masterclass training by Malcolm Love, media producer, public communication skills coach and trainer from the UK.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was the chief guest while Robert Chatterton Dickson, British high commissioner to Bangladesh, and Md Sohrab Hossain, senior secretary, Ministry of Education, were present as special guests.
Finalists from across five continents will compete in the Cheltenham Festival in front of a packed audience.
