Ensure quality of development work
Public Works and Housing Minister SM Rezaul Karim urged Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) to ensure the quality of development work for the citizens' benefit.
The minister made the call at CDA auditorium yesterday in his first views-exchange meeting since assuming office.
“Chattogram has experienced huge development thanks to the skilled leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Expedite the development work with sincerity, and ensure quality so that people can reap the best benefits of the work,” he said.
He also warned the officials, saying no pretext will be accepted when it comes to the question of development.
“Make sure that all development work is people-friendly. We want to take amenities enjoyed by city dwellers to marginalised communities of the country, as promised before the election,” urged the minister.
Karim visited development sites of some of the projects taken up by CDA, including Chattogram outer ring road.
Abdus Salam, CDA chairman, said there should be coordination among government organisations in order to evade overlaps.
Shahid Ullah Khandaker, secretary of the ministry, was present among others in the meeting.
