Ensure patient-friendly service
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque yesterday urged health officials to work sincerely for building patient-friendly management system at hospitals.
He also urged doctors to serve patients being inspired with the ideology and philosophy of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He was addressing a discussion as the chief guest on the occasion of the 99th birth anniversary Bangabandhu and National Children's Day at the auditorium of the National Public Health Institute in the capital's Mohakhali.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) organised the meeting with its Director General Prof Abul Kalam Azad in the chair.
He said after the independence of Bangladesh Bangabandhu took the initiative to ensure health services for disadvantaged people of the country.
Health Secretary Asadul Islam, President of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, President of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad Professor Dr Iqbal Arslan and former secretary general of BMA Prof Dr Sharfuddin Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
