Today is the 48th death anniversary of martyred intellectual Dr Fazle Rabbee.
On this day in 1971, the Pakistani occupation army and its auxiliary force Al-Badr picked up the renowned cardiologist from his Siddheswari residence in the capital and killed him on that night.
His body was recovered from Rayerbazar mass grave on December 18.
Dr Rabbee was a professor of the medicine and cardiology department of Dhaka Medical College.
To mark the occasion, his family members will place floral wreaths at his grave and distribute food among the poor, said a press release.
