Law minister urges sub-registrars

Image crisis of sub-registrars will go away if they serve people without harassment, said Law Minister Anisul Huq yesterday.

He urged officials of the Directorate of Registration  not to harass people and help them. The minister was speaking as chief guest at a meeting organised at Judicial Administration Training Institute, to accord farewell to outgoing Inspector General of Registration Khan Md Abdul Mannan.

Anisul said the registration department is upgraded to a directorate for enhancing its dignity.

Law Secretary Golam Sarwar asked sub-registrars and district registrars to work from 9am to 5pm and not to leave workplaces without any notice.

Newly appointed Inspector General of Registration Shahidul Alam Jhinuk presided over the programme where law ministry’s Joint Secretary Bikash Kumar also spoke.
