Diaz Murder: BCL leader Arman remanded
A Chattogram court yesterday placed Mohammad Arman, former organising secretary of Chittagong University (CU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), on a two-day remand in connection with BCL leader Diaz Irfan Chowdury murder case.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Shahidullah Kaiser passed the order after investigation officer of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) produced Arman before the court with a five-day remand prayer, said Chatogram Court Inspector Bijan Kumar Barua.
On March 20, CID officials arrested the BCL leader from Chandgaon area in the port city.
On November 20, 2016, body of Diaz, then assistant secretary of BCL central committee, was found hanging from the ceiling of his room near Chittagong University.
His mother filed a murder case on November 24 against 20 persons, including then CU assistant proctor Anwar Hossain and then president of CU unit of BCL Mohammad Alamgir Tipu.
