Dhaka University teachers condole death of colleague from Covid-19

Dhaka University Teachers' Association has expressed condolences at the death of Prof Shakil Uddin Ahmed of Soil, Water and Environment department of the university who died with Covid-19 last night.

The teachers have prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and also conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved family members, according to a DUTA press release.

"Eminent personalities like National Professor Dr Anisuzzaman and Professor Dr Nazmul Karim, who are the pride of Dhaka University family, died  from Covid-19," the press release mentioned.

The death rate from coronavirus is increasing in geometric rate, it added.

The association has urged the government and DU authorities to protect the university's teachers and students from coronavirus and also ensure proper treatment to the infected ones.

Prof Shakil Uddin breathed his last at Dhaka's Green Life Hospital where he was undergoing plasma therapy.
