‘Develop public servants to better serve society’: speakers
Speakers at a discussion yesterday stressed on improving quality of institutions that groom public servants, allowing them to better serve society.
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) organised the event at Ismaili Jamatkhana and Centre in Dhaka.
Dilshad Dossani, chairperson of AKF, said the government officials, individuals and organisations should maintain ethics to build a better society.
In his speech, Dr Gowher Rizvi, international adviser to the prime minister, said while the phrases “public servant” and “bureaucrat” often have negative connotations, it should be recognised that public servants have positive contributions to the society.
