Debate for visually-impaired students
A debate event for visually-impaired students was held on Friday at Brac Centre Inn Auditorium in the capital, said a press release.
The event was organised by Citizen's Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh, in association with Debate for Democracy.
It was held as part of the “Youth Conference 2018 – Bangladesh and Agenda 2030: Aspirations of the Youth,” scheduled for today, the release added.
Six debaters from University of Dhaka and Eden Women's College participated in the competition.
Dr Akbar Ali Khan, former advisor to the caretaker government was the chief guest at the event.
Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya, convener of Citizen's Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh and distinguished fellow of Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD); Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, member secretary of SHUJAN and Masuda Farouk Ratna, executive director of Gram Bikash Shohayak Shangstha were also present.
The session was chaired by Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, chairman of Debate for Democracy.
