Today is the fifth death anniversary of Matiur Rahman Bhuiyan, an organiser of the 1971 Liberation War, and an educationist of Keraniganj in Dhaka, says a press release.

Prayers will be offered at his grave at Joynagar graveyard after the Zohr prayers and a milad mahfil will be held at Bhawal Purbapara Jame Masjid near Ati Bhawal High School in Keraniganj after the Asr prayers. He was the father of Abdul Jalil Bhuyian, secretary general  of a faction of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists.
