Death anniv of Justice Habibur Rahman today
Today marks the sixth death anniversary of Justice Muhammad Habibur Rahman, who served as the chief of the caretaker government prior to the 1996 general election.
Born on December 3, 1928, Rahman was a language movement veteran, a teacher at Dhaka University and Rajshahi University, and author of 95 books on topics including politics, religion and works of Rabindranath Tagore.
He was appointed chief justice in February 1995.
The Ekushey Padak laureate passed away on this day in 2014 due to old-age complications at the age of 85.
