CU Chhatra Union places six-point demand for Cucsu election
Chittagong University (CU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Union yesterday announced a series of programmes demanding CU Central Students' Union (Cucsu) election immediately.
CU Chhatra Union President Drishon Pradip Chakma made the announcement at a press conference held at Cucsu Bhaban around 2pm where they placed a six-point demand.
They will conduct class campaigns and collect signatures from students from February 27 to March 13, and bring out a protest procession on March 6 while a "Protibadi Kobita Path-er Ashor" will be held on March 12 to press home their demands.
They will submit a memorandum to the vice chancellor on March 18 with the same demands.
Their six-point demand include: organising a dialogue with all active student organisations, forming a committee to amend the constitution for Cucsu election, preparing voter list for the election, withdrawing the ban on political and cultural activities from the university, and announcing election schedule immediately.
CU unit Chhatra Union General Secretary Gourachad Thakur and Organising Secretary Mahabuba Jahan Rumi were also present at the press conference.
