CPB unveils manifesto today
The Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) will announce its manifesto for the national election today, pledging to restore the core principles of independence.
In a press release, the party said the country's first constitution in 1972 had four principles – secularism, nationalism, democracy and socialism – but they are yet to be implemented.
If voted to power, CPB will work along the line of the core principals. It would also ensure equity, justice, humanity and social dignity and take the benefits of economic advancement to the 99 percent of the people instead of serving the interest of only one percent.
The manifesto titled “Vision-Liberation War 71” will be disclosed through a press conference at its office in Mukti Bhaban.
According to the press release, plundering, absence of democracy, communalism and imperialism are the four major problems for the people, which the party will address.
The party would also adopt a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, looting, bribery and social discrimination.
In addition, freedom of speech and expression, independence, human rights, democratic institutions, democratic decentralisation and the empowerment of the local government institutions will be given high importance in the manifesto.
