Coronavirus: Authorities will supply protective gear to law enforcers, journalists, HC hopes
The High Court today expressed hope that the authorities concerned will ensure the supply of personal protective equipment (PPEs) for law enforcers and journalists, who are performing their duties amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The HC bench of Justice Md Ashraful Kamal and Justice Sardar Md Rashed Jahangir came up with the hope during hearing a writ petition filed by a Supreme Court lawyer seeking necessary order on this issue.
The judges disposed of the writ petition with the observation but refused to pass an order on it.
Deputy Attorney General Pratikar Chakma opposed the writ petition saying that the government is taking steps to ensure supply of PPEs for the law enforcers.
The authorities concerned of the media outlets may take measures in this regard for their staff, the court said.
SC lawyer Advocate Md JR Khan Rabin filed the writ petition on Monday.
