Conference on mental health at DU ends
Psychology is not only essential for mental health care but also necessary for facilitating the society, speakers said at the 5th Bangladesh Clinical Psychology Conference.
The four-day conference titled “Ensuring Quality Mental Health Care in 21st Century Bangladesh” ended at Dhaka University senate building yesterday.
Jointly organised by Dhaka University Clinical Psychology Department and Bangladesh Clinical Psychology Society, around 600 psychologists and students attended the conference.
Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain, vice chancellor of Eastern University Bangladesh, inaugurated the conference on Saturday.
Dr Hamida Akhtar Begum, pro-VC of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology; Dr Graham Powell, ex-president of British Psychological Society; and Dr Muhammad Mahmudur Rahman, president of Bangladesh Clinical Psychology Society also attended the event.
