Christian co-operative to build hospital
The foundation stone of Dhaka Credit Divine Mercy General Hospital was laid in Kaliganj of Gazipur on Saturday, says a press release.
The proposed 300-bed hospital belongs to the Christian Co-Operative Credit Union Ltd, Dhaka (Dhaka Credit). It is going to be the first co-operative hospital in the history of Bangladesh.
Meher Afroze Chumki, former state minister for women and children affairs and incumbent lawmaker from Gazipur-5 constituency, attended the programme as the chief guest.
Cardinal Patrick D’Rozario CSC and Apostolic Nuncio to Bangladesh Archbishop George Kocherry were present as guests of honour.
Dhaka Credit President Babu Markus Gomes presided over the programme.
