Child dies after fall from human haulier
A seven-year-old girl died after she fell off a human haulier in Dhulihor area in Hossainpur upazila of Kishoreganj yesterday noon.
The deceased is Sahara Khatun, a first-grader. She was traveling with her uncle, said Sheikh Mustafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Hossainpur Police Station.
Locals rescued critically injured Sahara and took her to the upazila health complex. She was later referred to Kishoreganj General Hospital, but she died on the way.
Meanwhile, at least three people were killed and two injured in two districts during the last two days, our correspondents and a news agency report.
In Chattogram, night guard Md Azam, 35, was killed and two were injured after a truck overturned and fell off Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Foujdarhat of Sitakunda around 3:30am yesterday, said police.
Locals rushed the victims to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Azam dead.
In Rangpur, two people were killed after a bus hit their truck at Boldipukur Point in Mithapukur upazila on Sunday, said police.
The deceased are truck driver Rafikul Islam, 27, and his helper Shamu, 18.
On information, highway police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and seized the truck, but the bus driver fled the scene.
After completing necessary legal procedure, police handed the bodies over to their relatives.
