Chhobighar photo exhibition held in Savar
A daylong photo exhibition organised by Chhobighar was held at Savar on Saturday.
The youth-based photography organisation also awarded 12 individuals and an organisation with “Bangabandhu Best Photography and Sonar Bangla Award-2019”.
The award ceremony was held at Savar upazila auditorium.
State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman was present as chief guest with Chhobighar President Prince Ghosh in the chair.
Nine people -- Shohel Addittya, Mustafizur Rahman, Mridul Nath Datta, Amzad Hossain, Rizwanul Sam's, Riduanur Rahman, Romnil Haque, Siddikur Rahman and Mohtamim Hosen -- were awarded for photography and painting.
On the other hand, Tetuljhara Union Parishad Chairman Fakrul Alam Somor was given the award for his role in stopping child marriage, Prothom Alo staff reporter Arup Roy for helping a poor student, Uttaran Foundation for development of neglected people's lives and Toma Khondakar, a senior trainer of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha, for financially helping two children of Rana Plaza victims.
At the exhibition, 80 artworks and photographs submitted by 75 young photographers were displayed, said Prince Gosh.
Those pictures depicted biodiversity, nature, effect of environmental pollution, wildlife, life of disabled people, women, historic places and lifestyle of RMG workers.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr Enamur Rahman said such an initiative will help youngsters flourish their creativity.
