Brac ranked top NGO in world again
Brac has topped the NGO ranking of Geneva-based NGO Advisor for the fourth consecutive year.
NGO Advisor, an independent media organisation committed to highlighting innovation, impact and governance in the non-profit sector, published the 2019 Top 500 NGOs World rankings yesterday, said a press release.
Doctors Without Borders, Danish Refugee Council, Open Society Foundations, and Mercy Corps are among the top five NGOs.
“I am delighted to learn that Brac has retained the top position once again,” said Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Brac founder and chairperson.
“I congratulate our colleagues and partners whose dedication to fulfill our mission has helped us achieve this distinction,” he added.
NGO Advisor's rankings are based on innovation, impact and sustainability, with a special focus on organisational governance.
Brac retained the top spot due to its leadership role in the Rohingya crisis, innovative new partnerships and continued scale of its reach, added the press release.
In its review, NGO Advisor noted that Brac's programmes and initiatives are implemented across 43 countries, touching lives of millions of people, including hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees.
